Seventh Generation: Native Students Speak about Finding the Good Path
Abstract:
Native students share stories of their struggles to develop strong Native identities, cope with troubles in their families, communities, and schools, fight peer pressure, and succeed in school. Also includes fictional stories illustrating common dilemmas faced by Native youth, and a chapter for teachers and youth workers on how to help youth develop resilience. Appendix includes interview questions that were posed to 120 Native students.
